Big Bump in Russian Visas

f5d12d759333187daf5a0e921b74807fThe wave of applications from Russian citizens for a visa that will enable then to visit Greece for holidays is ever increasing. Indeed, there was a day in July that broke all previous records and during which 11,500 visas were granted.
As stated by the Consul General in Moscow, Ioannis Plotas, according to the tourism lobby, in the seven-month period from January to July, 600,172 visas were issued, which stands for a rise of 62.3 percent, while multiple entry visas also significantly increased- a rise of more than 123 percent. The average number of visas for entry in Greece given in a day before the beginning of the tourist season was 7,500. First estimates say that taking into consideration the rest of the summer season, the number of visas for Greece will exceed 800,000 in Moscow, while estimates for more than one million arrivals of Russians this year in Greece has by now proved to be reasonable.
