A 53-year-old Georgian woman was arrested and charged in the killing of a 72-year-old pensioner in Toumba, Thessaloniki, for whom she worked as a maid.
The housekeeper, after being interrogated by police, allegedly confessed her involvement in the crime and a warrant was issued charging her with manslaughter.
The investigating authorities of Thessaloniki have issued arrest warrant against her, on charges over voluntary manslaughter.
Authorities said they believe she had possible accomplices. The victim, a retired bank employee, was found dead in his apartment. He was bound hand and foot and found with fatal head injuries.
Neighbors called police saying they suspected foul play. The apartment was found in disarray which led police to investigate whether robbery was the motive although it was not revealed what was taken.
