Balkan Square 2013 In Neapoli

balkan squareAcclaimed artists and musicians, music, dance and theatrical groups from around Greece and the neighboring countries, painting exhibitions as well as book launches are going to be presented in the Balkan Square 2013, which is going to be held from Aug. 31-Sept. 8.
The Balkan Square is an annual invitation to all the peoples of the world for a peaceful coexistence.
The celebrations’ opening on Aug. 31 will be be held in the Square of Peace in Neapoli, Thessaloniki, while the official opening ceremony will take place on Sept. 2 the Allied Cemetery (Lagadas Street), with the cooperation of the Holy Metropolis of Neapoli and Stauroupoli, accompanied by Maria Farantouri and Manolis Mitsias’ concerts.
The program also includes events such as the concert of the popular Greek singers Eleni Tsaligopoulou and Kostas Makedonas, a photo exhibition entitled Balkan Photograph’s Views, presentation of the book Haunted Balkans.
Admission is free for most of the events, apart from some which have a 5 euro fee. “This festival is a feast and an encounter between the Balkan peoples. Neapoli is the meeting point hosting several events,” the President of the utility company of services in Neapoli and Sykies,  Kostas Nikolopoulos stated.
