Paris Academic Lambastes Stavridis, Georgiadis

1930813_533_355A Byzantinologist as well as first woman to become the Rector of Sorbonne University, Helene Ahrweiler-Glykatzi, had pointed words for some of Greece’s political and appointed leaders who she said are not up to their jobs.
Speaking on Spiros Charitatos’ radio program, Alpha989, commenting on the notorious phrase of  former Deputy Prime Minister Theodoros Pangalos “Mazi ta fagame” (“We all ate it together,” to describe where all the money went in Greece, she said: “We didn’t all eat it together … but I really think that we’re all to blame as members of a society.”
She was sharper in her ridicule of the Stelios Stavridis, the dismissed former head fo the country’s privatization, forced out after accepting a ride on the private jet of a business executive whose company had just bought a big stake in the state gambling monopoly OPAP. “Was he close to those he signed the contract with? If yes, that can’t be good. He’s a moron,” she said.
She said Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis doesn’t understand his job or what he’s doing. “Being a minister means I serve,” she said.
She said it was poor taste for photos of the late fashion designer Michalis Aslanis’ body to be published. “The person who is to blame is the one who actually gave this photo away. Therefore, what really counts is whether someone else paid him to do that, why, etc.,” she said.
