Greek Anarchists Claim Letter Bomb Attack

Greek Letter Bomb AttackThe Conspiracy Nuclei of Fire, or SPF, a militant Greek militant group, said it sent the letter bomb to an appeals court prosecutor that exploded without harming him but said it’s just the beginning of a wave of terror in which it is targeting judges and police officers, calling for bombings and “executions.”
The group is also urging other anarchists to attack members of the judiciary. It says it targeted Dimitris Mokkas in revenge for recent arrests over another letter bomb sent to a former police anti-terrorism chief.
In a posting on a leftist website, the SPF said many judges lack police guards and are “easy to find.” It called for attacks ranging from bodily assault to bombings and “executions.”
The SPF is a self-described “anti-social” nihilist group behind a string of bombings since 2008, which claimed no victims. More than 20 suspected SPF members have been charged with terrorism.
The attack comes as Greek authorities have warned that militants and terrorists may be going after “economic targets’ in retaliation for harsh austerity measures being imposed by the government, including the coming firing of scores of thousands of public workers and a lifting on the ban against home foreclosures, insisted upon by the country’s international lenders.
