Greece Pays 4.3B Euros in Debts

B887BA8A34DFDCD6AAFAACA9ECAC4521The Deputy Minister of Finance, Christos Staikouras made an announcement on September 4 regarding the repayment of the outstanding debts equal to 4.3 billion euros by the state.
Bureaucracy has slowed the repayment of debts to individuals, as the Ministry of Finance approved the funding requests of 5.7 billion euros, but the money disbursed to the beneficiaries until August 30 was 1.4 billion less.
In a nutshell, the funds exist in the drawers of the ministries and the bodies, despite the fact that they have been approved by the General Accounting Office of the state and Staikouras.
According to media reports, the Ministry said that in the past eight months it has paid out 18,342 lump sums to public sector pensioners, 91% of its funding for the Army Pension Fund and Military Hospitals and 84% of its funding towards ESY Hospitals.
