Deep Impact of Melting Ice on Greece

Greece_iceA map published by the National Geographic official website, shows how the planet will be transformed if the ice melts.
The interactive map, created by environmentalists who are dealing with climate change and its impact, presents the new image of each continent if the gloomy forecasts become reality.
As shown, Europe will suffer the most as big cities such as London, Venice, Stockholm and Copenhagen will sink.
The ice melting will not leave Greece unaffected, given that not only most of its small islands will belong to the past, but the consequences for Thessaloniki, Chalkidiki, Western Peloponnese, Attica and Central Greece in general, as well as for many other areas, will also prove to be catastrophic.
If you carefully look at Greece on the map, you can easily notice that all coastal areas have perished, while the sea all around Greece enters the mainland turning major cities and whole Greek regions into ghosts of the pasts.
