Racist Attack Disputed On Mt. Athos

athos_guardian1_617_420According to the British newspaper The Guardian there have been racist attacks in the Mount Athos area, the so-called Holy Mount populated by monks and Men of God.
Due to the listing of the racist attacks in Greece, many of which have been blamed on the neo-Nazi anti-immigrant Golden Dawn party, the British newspaper created on its website an “interactive map” that shows where across Greece the assaults have occurred, including Mt. Athos.
The British map listed a seriously injured Georgian worker, who was found bloody in Karyes although it was disputed that it was a racist-drive. Reportedly, it was the result of a quarrel between two men from Georgia and the victim working on Mt. Athos.
The newspaper has a reference for further information in an article from the Greek newspaper Ethnos. The article makes clear that it was not a racist attack but it’s written in Greek.
