autokinita2Good news for the automotive industry in Greece. A sign of recovery is the increase on cars’ sales in September 2013 in comparison with September 2012 and after a long slump as Greeks buried under austerity measures had nearly stopped making big ticket purchases.
According to the Hellenic Statistical Authority, in September this year, there were 5,356 new car sales, an increase of 13 percent from the same period a year ago, which showed a 46.3 percent decrease from September, 2011.
During the period January-September 2013, some 59,366 new cars were bought compared to 60,419 for the same period of 2012, showing a decrease of 1.7%.
