Troika Asks the Dismissal of 40% of Suspended Civil Servants

DHMOSIO_533_355Troika asks the dismissal of 2,000 civil servants for this year, while 15,000 more employees are expected to be fired by next year.
Troika seems to have prepared the “recipe” to ensure the dismissal of employees working in the public sector.
In fact, Troika wants the dismissal of 40 % of those being suspended. In a nutshell, Troika requires the dismissal of 5,000 of the 12,500 suspended employees as well as the dismissal of 40 % of those who are going to be suspended in 2014.
Those who have low qualifications and basic education will be laid off. This will be an addition to the redundancy of ERT and 2,000 more employees who are expected to be fired by the end of the year. From 1/1/2014 the next wave of suspension will fast track as well.
In the first three months 1,000 employees of the Greek municipalities will be suspended, 4,000 employees by the end of June, 1,500 more by the end of July and 1500 employees by the end of August. In addition, 2,000 employees will be added to the suspension plan by the end of September and the program will conclude with  1,000 more suspensions by the end of December 2014 .
