Special Guard Protection Costs 2000€

police_guardThe personal security of Greeks who have an annual income in excess of 100,000 euros are required to pay a monthly fee of 2,000 euros to the Greek state and an additional charge of 50€ for every allocated vehicle, according to a new decision by the ministry.
Public Order Minister Nikos Dendias submitted the new ministerial decision to Greek Parliament on Tuesday in response to a question by socialist PASOK deputy Costas Triantafyllou regarding the allocation of police resources for the security and privacy of individuals.
According to sources from the Ministry of Citizen Protection– when the first Common Ministerial Decision of March 15 2012 was submitted to individuals from public and private entities- the total amount of 411,379.63 was filed to Greek Police.
With the current CMD, the incomes from this service in accordance with the provisions from the Code of the Public Revenue Collection, are vested in the State Budget as public revenue.  In addition, 4% of the receivable budget is directly attributed to funding staff of the Greek Police.
Dendias stated, for the individuals who have guarded services and personal data, information will not be disclosed for security reasons.
However, he noted that the protection measures for individuals are examined every three months, adding, due to the demands, the number of policemen available for this purpose fluctuates constantly, particularly in judges who are presiding specific cases, as in diplomatic missions.
