Migrants in Greece Apply For Repatriation

A large number of immigrants in Greece have already applied for repatriation, mainly because most of them are jobless.

Among the applicants are Africans, Asians and Eastern Europeans. In particular, since the summer of 2013, 832 Pakistanis, 361 Bangladeshis and 142 Gergians have been interested in returning back to their homeland.

The head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Greece, Daniel Esdras expressed his opinion regarding the current issue of migrants’ repatriation, stating: “The people who ask to leave Greece face huge problems.” Nine in ten are homeless and have to look for food every day. They have realized they are in a tragic situation, a dead-end.”

Esdras also said that last year only 5 percent of the total managed to leave. That figure has grown to 18 percent by now.

    1. Its hard to feel sorry for someone when they disrespect borders and manipulate human rights to justify their lawlessness. The only migrants we should feel sorry for are the children (not their fault their parents are idiots) and a minority of illegals that face real persecution in their original country (usually due to war). However even then we cannot become Europe’s dumping ground for refugees.

We should only allow as many per capita as countries like Britain.. homebase to the antiGreek ranters at Amnesty International and the Guardian) The rest we should offer only temporary stay or offer to send to other EU countries. If someone starts slandering Greece as “racist” for opposing mass illegal immigration point out their enormous hypocrisy and call them out as prejudicial towards Greeks.

    2. Greece has no space for more people…Non Greeks must go back to their own country…Greece for Greeks…

    3. the truth is you are heartless… if the shoe was on the other foot and Greece was attacked by foreign enemys and you and your family had to flee to italy for temporery protection, would you like it if some right wing italian said ‘italy for italian’… non-italians must go back to greece??… and if you think it won’t happen, remember the 1million greeks that where made refugees from asia-minor in the 1920s?
