Greece will play against Romania in next month’s 2014 World Cup qualifying playoffs for one space among the 32 teams in Brazil next summer.
The first leg of the clash will take place in Athens on Friday Nov. 15. Greece will need to win the game to build an advantage ahead of a difficult trip to Romania four days later.
Greeks weren’t very lucky of the Round Robin format, having finished level with Bosnia-Herzegovina on 25 points, only to miss out on a place at the World Cup on goal difference.
The play-offs will be played on November 15 and 19, with the first team drawn at home in the first leg. The away goals rule will apply.
The playoff draw in full:
Fixture | 1st Leg | 2nd Leg |
Portugal vs. Sweden | 15 November | 19 November |
Ukraine vs. France | 15 November | 19 November |
Greece vs. Romania | 15 November | 19 November |
Iceland vs. Croatia | 15 November | 19 November |
