Greek Shipping Minister Proposes the Lifting of the Back-to-Work Order for Seamen



    PNO_KabotazGreek Shipping & Aegean Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis on Monday recommended to the prime minister the lifting of the back-to-work order for seamen effective since February 6, 2013.
    Varvitsiotis underlined that a firm demand by the Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) is being met, adding that a creative cooperation with the federation is being ratified for the benefit of society. “Seamen play a leading role in the effort made to lead the country out of the crisis,” the minister said.
    PNO has announced that it will participate in the 24-hour nationwide strike called by private sector umbrella union GSEE for November 6.

    1. Who cares and why is the Press trying to please us with this nonsense about “lifting our seamen’s back to work order” when our country is being ruled by the criminal TROIKA, Samaras and Venizlos Dictatorship..??!

    2. Now that summer is over and the tourists have gone home it’s okay to lift the back to work order. Great, how about resolving the back pay issues?
