Private Clinics Refuse Patients Insured with EOPPY

eoppy-public clinicFrom now on the private clinics in Greece won’t admit patients who are insured by the National Organization for the Healthcare Provision (EOPYY). The private clinics will withhold care until November 3, or when the EOPYY will pay for its debts.
According to sources from the Association of Greek Clinics, EOPYY owes around 800 million Euros to private healthcare facilities. They also said that they are owed services carried out in 2007. In the official announcement the association stated that: “our potential for survival has run out.”
The deadline for settlement with EOPYY is November 3, and the private clinics will provide care to patients with kidney disease and those being treated in intensive care, until this time.
