The Roma couple from Farsala, who raised and claimed to be the parents of theĀ little blond girl, Maria, will appeal against the warrant of their temporary detention. In fact they intend to claim the return of the girl to their family.
The submission of the appeal was expected, after the girl’s biological parents, the Bulgarian Roma couple, admitted that they voluntarily gave little Maria to them.
Consequently, according to the lawyers of the Roma couple from Farsala, the charges pressed against the couple for “child abduction” and “repeated seizure of false certification” are not valid.
The Juridical Council of Larissa is expected to decide upon the request of advocacy for the Roma couple. The relative ruling will be issued in the following days.
Meanwhile, the lawyers of the couple disclosed, that if the progress of the case is favorable to the request for discharge, they intend to claim the return of the little blond girl to the Roma couple from Farsala, who will then proceed with the process of legal adoption.
