Greece, after 60 years of strong presence in the tourism industry, finally hosts a group that offers the full holiday experience of a tourist. Mouzenidis Travel, was established by an expat from Georgia, Boris Mouzenidis, in Thessaloniki. The group expanded to air travel by launching, Ellinair, an airline that focuses to connect Greece with the balkans and the Russian market. The routes that will start in December, will offer connections twice a week from the Ukrainian capital Kiev and Thessaloniki, using the first Avro RJ 85 aircraft, expected to be delivered to the company in late November.
Specifically, the flights will be operated from the international airport “Boryspil” to “Macedonia” airport and vice versa every Wednesday and Sunday. According to the Commercial Director of Ellinair, Spiros Daliakas, within the next quarter new lines will connect Thessaloniki with Moscow and Rostov.
This is just the beginning, as from the end of March a second Avro RJ 85 aircraft will be delivered , which will also be placed on destinations of the former Soviet Union. As Daliakas explained, this aircraft type was selected specifically for the Russian market, as most small airports have air corridors. Avro RJ 85 aircrafts have the ability to carry 96 passengers and are equipped with dual fuel tank that enables them to make long trips, despite their small size.
The goal of the Group is to offer clients luxurious, carefree holidays. Mouzenidis Travel takes over everything, from the issue of a visa, to the transfer of visitors to their hotels.
