The official program for the events was announced today by Nikos Papadakis, the President of the National Research Foundation “Eleftherios Venizelos.” It will include exhibitions, lectures, concerts and educational activities. On the 1st of December there will be a presentation of two stamps made especially for the occasion, as well as other philatelic stamp rows issued by the Hellenic Post Office (ELTA). Moreover, the NBG will issue collectible 2 Euro coins in honor of the Union.
During the presentation, the Mayor of Chania, Manolis Skoulakis announced that the opening of the “Eleftherios Venizelos” library will occur on the 1st of December. While the main event of that day will be the hoisting of the flag on the historical fortress Firka.
In the margins of today’s press conference, it was learned that on Wednesday, November 13 at 12:30, there will be a press conference by board members on “The National Foundation Eleftherios Venizelos faced with the economic crisis and the limited state interest,” in the main building of Benaki Museum in Athens.
