A criminal who is incarcerated for murder, gave the Greek Special Counter-Terrorist Unit a key testimony. He said that he personally knows the assassin of the two young men, who were members of Golden Dawn. He also stated that he has taken part in several terrorist attacks of the organization–ghost ARM and the Sect of Revolutionaries.
The prisoner, who has been remanded knows the executor of George Fountoulis and Manos Kapelonis, while he also admitted that he specifically participated not only in the Alter TV Channel attack in February 2009, but also in the attack of the Police Station in Agia Paraskevi.
As it has been reported, the men of the Hellenic Police compared the videos of the attack on the police station of Agia Paraskevi and on Neo Iraklio coming to the conclusion that the perpetrator has the same body composition, and the same characteristic gait. Although the investigation has reached a standstill, it now focuses on only three people.
According to police sources, the fact that a criminal prisoner knows people and things about the new terrorism, proves that in many cases there is a kind of “connection” between criminals.
As far as the delay in assumption of responsibility many theories exist. According to the newspaper “To Vima” the most practical is that the group’s hide-outs may be situated in remote areas, making the investigation difficult; the group might have chosen to remain idle until it is safer for them.
