Tourism Revenues Rising in 2014

German touristsAccording to Reuters, the revenues from Greek tourism will rise to 13% in 2014, reaching 13 billion euros. This will help Greece emerge from the deep recession.
Tourism is the main industry of Greece, accounting for about 17 percent of its 185 billion-euro economic output. It is also considered as one of the main employers of the country as it employs one in five Greeks.
The head of SETE (Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises) in an interview in Reuters, reported that Greece is one of the top tourist destinations among European countries like Britain and Germany. It was noted that the pre-bookings from Britain increased by 10%, pointing an increase in arrivals next year.
The vice president of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises, Andreas Andreadis said to Reuters, “Our initial estimate for 2014 is that we will have more than 18 million arrivals, an all-time record, and a record in revenues, seen at 13 billion euros.”
