Cruel Murder in Athens

cruel murder
A Greek expat of Chechnya was arrested for the cruel murder of a 28-year-old man who took place at a restaurant in the heart of Athens, in Omonoia. Also arrested for the murder, was 43-year-old owner of the restaurant, accused of perpetrating the crime.
It all began when a woman along with the 28-year-old victim and another friend of hers were discussing their problems. The girl mentioned to her friends that her previous boss owed her money from unpaid salaries.  Her two friends volunteered to help her get the money she had worked for. When they got there, the 28-year-old victim got into a dispute with the restaurant’s owner who refused to pay the salaries that he owed the girl. Then the situation got ugly as the 43-year-old businessman called the Greek expat, who was working as henchman of the nearby region, to “handle” the situation.
As soon as the henchman got to the restaurant, he began arguing with the 28-year-old man and then started beating him with fury. He was beating him with punches to the head, while he was wearing weighted-knuckle gloves. As a result, the 28-year-old man was knocked unconscious. However, the henchman continued beating the victim hard with kicks and punches to the victim’s head.
Some witnesses called the police, and a DIAS squad arrived at the restaurant. They arrested the 39-year-old henchman on the spot while the restaurant’s owner was arrested a few moments later with accusations of perpetrating a murder.
The poor 28-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. According to the coroner, the victim died due to serious head and brain injuries.
