Guest House for Homeless People in Thessaloniki

People in need now have the opportunity to find a temporary shelter, a clean place to sleep, change their clothes and take a shower. These basic needs will be offered at the Guest House for Homeless people and will start to operate in December.

Τhe Guest House is about 750 m2 and offers 74 beds, which are separated to men’s and women’s. It was bought by the Charitable Fraternity of Men in Thessaloniki and was granted to the Municipality of Thessaloniki 10 years ago. The equipment and the configuration of the dormitories was a donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

“The dormitory will temporarily host people in need, from 7 pm until 8 am. Anyone who wants, can ask for help. There will be a social worker, two administrators, four maids, guards and a team of volunteers” noted the deputy mayor of Social Solidarity, Calypso Goula. The dormitory operates in cooperation with the social NGO Arsis, and also provides dry cleaning and auditoriums for psychosocial support.

“Despite the economic crisis, the number of homeless people does not seem to have grown significantly,” said the spokesman of Arsis, Nikos Gavalas.

According to Ms Goula, in Thessaloniki and in the wider region, there is not a large homeless population, at least for the present time; in Greece the institution of family is very strong and provides support to those who are in a financial slump.

  1. …which will be used in large part by illegals (which is the bulk of homelessness in Greece). These illegals show how much they respect greeks by…

    1. lawlessly violating our sovereign borders

    2. Often engaging in criminal activities to support themselves while in Greece

    3. manipulating human rights groups to demonize Greeks for opposing mass immigration.

Should we be heartless and not support non-Greeks at all? Of course not. We aren’t only Greeks but human as well. However, we should only show solidarity to those that aren’t outright hostile towards Greeks.

    a. DO NOT support any illegal that references the former Yugoslavia as Macedonia

    b. DO NOT support any illegal that only entered the country for economic reasons

    c. DO NOT support any illegal that cry and cry to foreign funded NGOs and try to frame themselves as “immigrants”… rather than temporary residents fleeing conflict

    d. DO support illegals that support Greece on FYROM issue, that came illegally only because they feared only for their life back home, and that are greatful for any support that we give them (rather than manipulate foreign funded ngos against us)

For the record, this does not mean we should be beating up the rest like common thugs. It means we should not offer them support of any kind and undermine them with every ethical and legal means available to us (e.g. don’t treasonously hire them to do work under the table). Make them feel unwelcome at every corner.

Whether poor or rich, given the extreme anti-greek rhetoric these days (and everyone pretending not to notice the Skopians), it is irrational to support anyone trying to destroy Greece.
