The doctors union (EOPYY) announced that they will continue striking until next Tuesday protesting against a new government plan that includes new pay cuts and layoffs.
Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis appeared willing to discuss the new plan with protesters stressing that if they don’t all come into agreement he has a plan B that the doctors won’t like.
In a TV interview with Greek TV station Skai he said ” I am not willing to keep a unnecessary work force for the Greek Health system because if I do this, I will have to proceed toward new pay cuts in pensions.
Greek doctors plan not to return to their jobs until December 3rd.
