Woman Dies in Severe Storm in Greece

stormA 55-year-old Serbian woman was found dead in the basement of her apartment in the center of Argos, a city in Peloponnese, Greece.
The apartment where she was living, flooded when a wall broke and waters rushed into the house turning it  into a river. The mayor of the city of Argos,  Dimitris Kabosos compared the storm to a “river running from the sky.”
In Western Greece the strong winds and the heavy rain has caused many problems, such as trees falling and the detachment of road signs. The fire department of Patras has received several calls for the falling trees, while in the coastal area of Mesologgi the road to Tourlida was completely covered as water turned the road into a river.
In many coastal areas, the maritime transports are being conducted with problems as the strong winds reach 8 on the Beaufort scale.
