Only someone who has run the Athens Classic Marathon at least once, can describe the emotion of the experience and the incredible strain on the feet caused by the difficulty of the marathon route. Athanasios Tsaklas, experienced both to the highest degree.
Two days before the race, Athanasios decided he would stand at the starting line not wearing any shoes. On November 10, he pushed himself to the limits in order to reach the Panathenaic stadium, running barefoot.
Tsaklas’s effort was very painful yet worth it, since he ran the marathon to raise money for the Chatzikiriakeio Foundation.
