The Greek newspaper “Ethnos” published a photograph of the Golden Dawn MP, Ilias Kasidiaris, holding a kalashnikov rifle. The photograph has raised questions, concerning the action of Golden Dawn, as these weapons are illegal in Greece.
According to “Ethnos,” the counter terrorism police gave similar photographs and videos to the magistrates that are handling the Golden Dawn case.
As the newspaper reports, this is a new generation weapon, appropriate for distant targets and night shooting. The way in which Kasidiaris holds the weapon shows that he has received military training and that he has experience.
The video that police gave to court shows a swearing-in ceremony modeled on nazi rituals. The new data confirms the accusations concerning the criminal action of the organization.
Ilias Kasidiaris commented on the photograph saying sarcastically: “I just came from Afghanistan, where I was training on how to use weapons.”
Golden Dawn said that this photograph was posted a few years ago and that the weapon isn’t a kalashnikov but a saiga 410, a legal sporting gun.
