The Financial Times reported on Sunday, that a Greek retail partner of Vodafone has filed a 250 million euro ($343.26 million) lawsuit against Vodafone Greece, for allegedly breaching its contracts and causing damages to a Greek retail partner.
According to the newspaper, last week, Vodafone Greece received details of the civil lawsuit from MTS, a local telecoms retailer that sold Vodafone contracts and services in the country.
MTS, in which the British telecoms group owns a 40% stake, reported that Vodafone was limiting its ability to function through the cancellation of a loan restructuring and the termination of a cooperation agreement, entailing maintenance services and loan contracts.
According to the lawsuit, Vodafone was preventing MTS from listing on the Athens stock exchange.
Vodafone is a British multinational telecommunications company headquartered in London. It is the second largest telecommunications company in the world, in terms of both subscribers and revenues.
