Karolos Papoulias Optimistic for the Greek Economy

Papoulias_new yearPresident of the Republic, Karolos Papoulias appeared optimistic regarding the Greek economy. Speaking to reporters after a meeting with the country’s political leadership on Wednesday, where wishes for the New Year were exchanged, he said he was confident that things were now moving in the right direction. He had a long discussion with the Greek Finance Minister, Yannis Stournaras, whom Papoulias considers to be a fighter.

President Papoulias exchanged New Year’s wishes with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) leader Alexis Tsipras, Communist Party of Greece (KKE) secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas, Independent Greeks president Panos Kammenos and Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS) president George Karatzaferis.
