Abbot Declines New Monks Due to Crisis

The Archimandrite Nektarios Moulatsiotis, Abbot of the monastery of Saint Seraphim of Sarov, in Fokida, Greece, announced that the monastery can’t accept new monks because of financial difficulties.
In fact, the Abbot, advised a man who wished to be a monk to find another monastery as Saint Seraphim due to the economic crisis and the decrease in visitors can’t afford a new monk.
According to the local media, Archimandrite Nektarios Moulatsiotis wrote a letter to the trainee monk, explaining the situation. He said that the monks of the monastery already amount to 19 and that there is no space for more. He pointed out the financial difficulties that the monastery faces as the number of visitors has declined.
Finally, the abbot advised the young candidate from Patras, to find another monastery suggesting the Omplos Monastery, which is located  in the northern part of Achaea, Greece.
