subA Greek businessman who was out on bail after being charged in a submarine scandal was arrested in northeast Attica on Jan. 16 for violating the restrictive conditions and the terms of his temporary release. Alexandros Avataggelos has been accused of money laundering through his companies, according to Eniko.gr. He had been set free on a bail of 500,000 euros and conditions that included a prohibition on leaving the country and a requirement he check in to a police station regularly. There were no details on what conditions he violated. The incident came 10 days after a convicted November 17 terrorist walked away from a furlough he was granted even though he was serving six life sentences for six assassinations.
