Greek Healthcare Employees on Strike

greek protestersGreek doctors, nurses and dentists have decided to strike on February 6, in order to express their opposition to the upcoming reforms in primary healthcare.

The strike is being organized to coincide with the vote in parliament on the government’s draft law concerning reforms to the healthcare sector.

State and EOPYY hospital doctors will also participate in the strike.

At their joint statement, the unions representing the workers stated that the bill will destroy healthcare and create major difficulties for patients.

Protesters will gather outside of the Ministry of Health in Athens at 11 a.m. and then march to parliament.

“At their joint statement, the unions representing the workers stated that the bill will destroy healthcare and create major difficulties for patients.”

In other words, the unions are once again striking because of their reduced paycheck. Unionist claim they are doing it for “the people’, or “for democracy”, or “for human rights”, is all horse manure. They are striking out of pure self-interest but the manipulative sleazes try to pawn off as altruism. Perhaps someone with a brain larger than a walnut would believe them if the same sorts hadn’t been evading taxes for years and weren’t putting their own patient’s lives at risk by striking.

If our unions (mostly infiltrated by far left wing extremists) remotely cared about our homeland , they would gladly make sacrifices for their country during its time of need. Our unionists couldn’t care less about our country. Its all about me me me.

  2. “No”, they are not striking for the welfare of the people…Unions are striking for the welfare of their pockets as you say they are striking because of their reduced pay-checks or in other word striking to protect their pay checks not to get slimmer…These bunch of people do not care about the people, they never cared about the people…

  3. Greek NHS Doctors, Nurses, Dentists and public servants working in the Health sector never cared about us the people and our need from health service…They only care about the day when they get their fat pay-checks including the 100’s of benefits paid by us the Taxpayers…They should know that their wages are paid by us the Taxpayers…
