Thirty-six percent of Greeks in an effort to not only to save money, but also to purchase products they can’t find on the shelves in Greece, use the Internet to make their purchases. However, according to the results of a recent survey, when Greek buyers choose Greek e-shops to purchase a product they want, they wind up paying more money than when they choose foreign e-shops.
The survey was conducted by PayPal, the results of which were presented by the Greek newspaper “To Ethnos.” According to PayPal’s data, someone can find products with lower prices in the U.S. e-shops than in Greek e-shops. In fact, if someone chose U.S. e-shops over Greek ones to make purchases, they could end up saving up to 37 percent. In addition, video games and cosmetics are available at lower prices while clothes at half-price.
What is more, German e-shops also have lower prices than the Greek ones. You can find a video-game up to 40 percent cheaper than in Greek stores, clothes up to 25 percent cheaper, while someone can save from 17 to 31 percent of his money on electric and cosmetic products.
In UK’s e-shops, someone can buy clothes half-price while cosmetics with a 24 percent discount. In addition, the video games are 35 percent cheaper than in Greek e-shops and the electric products are available at prices close to 24 percent lower.
According to the survey, China’s web market is really an affordable one. Someone can find video games in prices up to 78 percent lower and clothes close to 44 percent cheaper than in Greek e-shops.
