The Greek island of Crete has competed against New York, Budapest, London and Paris and come out the winner.
It all started when a group of street artists chose the best places for kissing, marked them and advertised them. This might be the most romantic and original initiative that has spread around the world. It is the campaign entitled “This Is A Good Kiss Spot”.
Scenic spots close to monuments, bridges, benches, cars and whatever one could imagine in New York, Sydney, Rome, Paris, Budapest and Sitia in Crete were some of the places included in the campaign.
Through the Hotel Association of Sitia, Mr. Veniamakis sent a photograph to the competition, which was held on a well-known social networking site. The photograph won the competition, beating other photographs of landscapes from around the world.
The campaign’s organizers have already sent stickers to Greece, which have been affixed to areas of Sitia informing people that these points are among the finest in the world for a kiss!
