Opportunity for Young Unemployed in Village, Northern Greece

Greek VillageNorthern European pensioners are creating an entire village in Northern Greece, in which young unemployed from Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy will have the opportunity to live and work.
The village is an idea of the ProWork initiative. The ProWork initiative is a collaborative initiative of Intercivil Society, ThessaloWiki, a group of young professionals and students, Intercultural Communication and Leadership School (ICLS) of Rome and ProWork group of Portugal. Its goal is to promote solidarity and restore confidence among Europeans of different nationalities and generations and tackle youth unemployment and competitive spirit between the Europeans caused by the financial crisis.
In the new village, the young and unemployed from Southern Europe can stay and find a job, while seniors and pensioners from the less sunny Northern Europe will have the opportunity to stay permanently or just to enjoy the mild Greek winter.
The ProWork initiative will be presented by ThessaloWiki and Intercivil Society’s president Geza Tessenyi in a special event on March 14, in Thessaloniki. The event is being supported by Thessaloniki’s Mayor, Yiannis Boutaris, the European Commission and the Career Services Office of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
