Ellinikon Airport Refit To Create 35,000 Jobs

EllinikoThe redevelopment project of the former Ellinikon airport by Lamda Development company is expected to create 35,000 new job openings by 2024.
These figures are based on a study released on March 17 by the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) and conducted on behalf of the Hellenic Republic Assets Development Fund (TAIPED), without taking into consideration the jobs created after the operation of the facilities.
According to the study, the Attica region will see a considerable acceleration in the economic activity until 2025 that will increase GDP by 1.2%. The level of private consumption and total investments are expected to increase by 2.2% and 1.8%, respectively, by the end of the assessed period.
Moreover, the development of the Ellinikon area will result in the permanent strengthening of the trade balance, due to capital inflow during the construction stage and long-term capital inflow after the completion of the project.
