French Film Festival Set To Open in Athens

The 15th French Film Festival in Greece is about to get underway, opening for the Athenian public on March 19th  with Jalil Lespert’s “YSL” on the life of Yves Saint Laurent.
Forty-seven films will be projected in the French Institute and in the Danaos-Embassy Nova Odeon movie theatre. Most of the films will be being shown for the first time in Greece, while nine presentations will be worldwide premieres.
The famous actress, Nathalie Baye, is the president of the festival this year. She has had a remarkable career encompassing a wide range of roles, awards and collaborations with directors such as Truffaut, Godart and Spielberg. In a dedicated ceremony, she will also be presented a special award by her friend and journalist, Yiannis Kartalis.
Valeria Bruni Tedeschi will also arrive in Athens to attend the Festival for the screening of  “A Castle in Italy”, which was among the Cannes Festival’s contestants.
Among the nine films in competition are the films “Camille Klontel 1915 ” with Juliette Binoche, ”Beauty and the Beast” with Lea Seydoux and Vincent Cassel and “Michael Kohlchaas” with Mads Mikkelsen in the leading role.
The 15th French Film Festival will also take place in Thessaloniki from March 27 to April 2 in the movie theatre Pavlos Zannas.
