Lottery Scratch-Cards Set to Return to Greek Market

After an eleven-year absence, lottery scratch-cards are set to return in Greece. According to Greece’s Ministry of Finance, an agreement was reached with the Hellenic State Lotteries and the scratch-cards will be on sale from May 1.
The first lottery scratch-cards came on the Greek market in 1993, but in 2003 the contract between OPAP (Greek Organization of Football Prognostics S.A.) and Intralot expired and was never renewed.
The consortium who has taken over OPAP’s management for the next 12 years believes that the return of the scratch-card to the Greek betting market will boost the company’s profits.
