Huffington Post: Greek Revival, The Return of Tourism to Greece

santorini_2643434bPeggy Goldman, a travel expert and president of Friendly Planet Travel talks about the revival of Greek tourism in her article in the Huffington Post entitled “Greek Revival: The Return of Tourism to Greece.”
The article stresses the impressive revival of Greek tourism and Greece itself after only four years since the financial crisis outbreak and the social unrest and uncertainty which has scared off tourists from visiting the country.
The centuries of Greek civilization are difficult to ignore and tourists are inevitably returning to Greece, despite the financial problems that the country continues to face. “Along with the tourists, has come a renewed sense of discovery and appreciation for the beauty, glory and power of Greece, from its mainland to some 6,000 islands that dot the Mediterranean and Aegean Sea,” the article says.
“Last year a record 17.9 million tourists traveled to Greece, many no doubt attracted by strong deals on everything from hotels to restaurants to rental cars. The Greek people are happy to share the wonders of a land so magnificent that the gods themselves once chose to play here, Poseidon in its waters and Zeus upon its mountains,” Goldman stresses, while proposing her favorite destinations in Greece.
For those visiting Greece for the first time, Goldman suggests visiting Athens for the renowned nightlife, shops and archaeological sites. She also suggested Mykonos for those in search of a romantic destination and Santorini for its amazing landscapes.
