Turkish Frigate Enters Greek Territorial Waters

turkish frigateYesterday, April 3, a Turkish frigate entered Greek territorial waters and its helicopter approached the shores of an inhabited Greek island of the Dodecanese.
According to the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (GEETHA), the Turkish frigate, BARBAROS, entered Greek territorial waters between the islands of Amorgos and Kinaros at 3:25 p.m. On its route within Greek territorial waters, the frigate’s helicopter performed a cooperative exercise with the ship approaching the coast of Kinaros. The Turkish frigate exited Greek territorial waters at 4 p.m.
The Hellenic Navy is currently keeping an eye the Turkish ship which is now sailing in international waters in the region of Ikaria, Greece. Furthermore, aircrafts of the Greek Air Force which were flying parallel formations recognized and intercepted the Turkish helicopter. The Turkish frigate had set sail from the naval base of Aksaz.
