A homeless former engineer will run for councillor in Larissa, central Greece at the forthcoming municipal elections. He will pe running as part of the “Town Identity” local political platform.
“This man is homeless, he addressed the Mayor of Larissa and the latter refused to meet him; he sought shelter at the metropolis but they do not have any lodging; he went to the community clinic where he found some help; he knocked on Larissa’s prefecture door and it never opened. He was an engineer and after an accident at work, he was fired; his previous employer owes him 15,000 euros, but social welfare excluded him because of the lack of a IKA (Social Insurance Institute) booklet, said local journalist Yorgos Bartzokis who is the leader and mayoral candidate of “Town Identuty.”
“It is our great pleasure to announce that Mr. K.P. will be the “Town Identity” candidate for councillor at the upcoming local elections in Larissa, where he will be representing about 500 of our fellow citizens who are impoverished and lacking proper housing. The rest of his data will never be made public,” Bartzokis said.
