Panathinaikos is the new Greek Cup title-holder after beating PAOK at Athens’ Olympic Stadium on Saturday, April 26th, 2014. Marcus Berg scored a hat trick to lead Panathinaikos to a 4-1 triumph in the 18th Greek Cup final.
The other two scorers were Nikos Karelis for Panathinaikos and Zvonimir Vukic for PAOK. Panathinaikos had to win a Greek cup final since 2010.

“Today is a day of joy for Panathinaikos, especially for the kids who believed in themselves and the team,” Panathinaikos coach Giannis Anastasiou told Reuters.

“It is a huge success for these guys who few people believed in at the start of the season. They have demonstrated that they have the ability and that better days are ahead of us.”

Police reported that at least 34 people were arrested before the game for possession of fireworks, wooden and metal poles, and drugs.
