First Mediterranean Yacht Show in Greece

yachtThe region of Peloponnese and the municipality of Nafplio, in cooperation with the Greek Association of Marine Tourism will for the first time be organizing a Mediterranean Yacht Show under the auspices of the Ministry of Mercantile Marine.
It will be an exhibition of luxury boats, which will present more than 60 yachts that can accommodate up to 12 passengers and are up to 60 meters long. Several of luxury boats have previously been rented by Hollywood stars, princesses and businessmen who have cruised the Greek islands. “It’s an exhibition addressed to foreign professionals, while the world’s largest renting yacht companies are also expected to attend,” said Michalis Skoulikidis, president of the Greek Association of Marine Tourism.
“Yachting is the most interesting and impressive part of marine tourism. It mostly appeals to tourists of high social places and income as well as people who are internationally known. This, of course, brings huge advertising to Greece,” added Skoulikidis. “There are two more annual exhibitions in the world, which focus on the promotion of professional yachts: one takes place in the Caribbean in December, presenting yachts rented in order to visit the exotic destinations of America, while the second takes place in Genoa in late April and it concerns yachts that travel the west Mediterranean,” said Skoulikidis.
The exhibition is addressed to agents from abroad who will visit in order to meet the crew and close deals on behalf of tourists with expensive taste.
Famous Greek chef Ettore Botrini, will also be part of the exhibition as a judge for the cooking competition.
