Greek Paradises Unknown to Tourists

parga in greeceEvery year Greece attracts millions of tourists who prefer to visit specific popular islands such as Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, Corfu and Rhodes. However, Greece is a country with many beautiful destinations that remain unknown to tourists. Greek Reporter highlights some of these spots below.
Hydra-Spetses: Two cosmopolitan islands
The islands of Hydra and Spetses are located in the Saronic Gulf. Spetses, the jewel of the Gulf, is a small island with beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters. Hydra the most cosmopolitan island of the Gulf, is characterized by a perfect balance between traditional and modern elements.
Monemvasia: The romantic castle-town
Monemvasia is located in Peloponnese, in the prefecture of Laconia. The castle town was founded in the Byzantine era. The town’s atmosphere is very romantic and idyllic, its high stone built houses, the imposing mansions, the narrow cobblestone streets and the Byzantine churches never fail to charm visitors.
Parga: Like an island
Parga is located in Preveza, northwestern Greece. It is built amphitheatrically and it looks like an island because of its narrow streets. The sea view from the castle of Parga is breathtaking. Visitors can enjoy the dreamy beaches and turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea.
Skiathos: The new Mykonos
During the last years, the island of Skiathos in the Aegean Sea, steals the show attracting thousands of visitors — mostly young people due to its nightlife. Apart from the magical beaches, there are also dense pine forests that make the island look more wild. Skiathos has the typical architecture of the Aegean islands with the white houses and cobblestone streets.
Amorgos: “The Big Blue”
Amorgos is one of the most beautiful islands of the Cyclades, with a rich cultural heritage and wild scenery that impressed its visitors. The island is an ideal destination for trekking lovers as its most beautiful beaches are accessible on foot.
