According to Greek police, two supporters of the ultra nationalist party, Golden Dawn were injured during clashes between anarchists and Golden Dawn supporters in a street market in Marousi, northern Athens, Greece.
A group of unknown individuals who had their faces covered wearing helmets attacked 10 Golden Dawn members who were picketing. Two people, a man and a woman sustained head injuries and were immediately transferred to hospital. Soon after the incident in Marousi, Golden Dawn members threw a naval flare at anarchists in Korydallos, western Athens. Anarchists responded to the attack by tossing a fire extinguisher.
Golden Dawn with an official statement claimed that a group of 50 people armed with clubs and other lethal weapons attacked women, children and elderly. They also mentioned that three people were injured during the clashes.
Golden Dawn accused the Greek police authorities of not proceeding with arrests and said that anarchists are collaborating with the Greek government in order to silence the only political party that opposes kleptocracy.
