A skydiving festival took place in the historic airport of Maleme in Chania, Crete, from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, September 7.
The 10-day skydiving festival was organized by the Platanias Municipality and the Cretan association for skydiving, Skydive Crete, in collaboration with the Italian Skydive Sardegna.
Experienced Greek and foreign skydivers performed breath-taking jumps and recorded them with their cameras. Apart from enjoying the sight of skydiving, visitors also had the opportunity to experience at least one jump.
A special exhibition was held during the festival, mainly of photographs and other material, showing the historic significance of the airport and all the Maleme area during World War II.
