Athens International Airport Wins World Routes Award

el-venizelos-AIA660-eurokinissiAthens International AirportĀ “Eleftherios Venizelos” has been the recipient of another distinction from World Routes, a forum for airports and airline companies, which took place in Chicago from September 20 to 23.
Specifically, during the 20th Word Routes Development Forum which was attended by at least 3,000 representatives of the airline industry (300 airline companies and 800 airports), Athens International Airport was voted by airline companies with a special honorary award in the category of 4-20 million passengers, in recognition of the continuous dynamic support that the airport offers to airlines for their development efforts, under the extremely adverse economic conditions but also during the recovery period of the aviation industry. Other candidates in the same category were the airports of Abu Dhabi, Brussels, Budapest and Tampa.
Athens International Airports is the most awarded airport in the history of World Routes, one of the most important institutions in the industry, with 13 distinctions in 10 years.
