Crete’s OFI produced the week’s upset in Greek soccer beating Panathinaikos in Athens for only the second time in its history on Sunday.
Italian manager Gennaro Gattuso’s OFI won 2-1 (video) making the most of a poor Panathinaikos performance and scored with Giorgi Merebashvili and Giorgos Makris, while even Panathinaikos’ equalizer was scored by an OFI player, Thodoris Tripotseris. OFI fans staged a noisy welcome party at the Heraklion airport in Crete later on Sunday, upon the arrival of the OFI squad.
