This is the 18th hotel in Greece to be considered a part of this network, while in 2015 two more hotels in Crete and Rhodes are expected to be added to the list.

Yades Heritage & Hospitality is a non-profit organization, as well as a promotion and marketing network that provides international branding, marketing and sales representation in foreign markets. The chain was established in Greece in 2005 and it is the only Greek member of the Historic Hotels of Europe network. Yades Heritage & Hospitality is also working with the Historic Hotels of America organization.

The inclusion of Marpessa Smart Luxury Hotel in the esteemed group is a sign that the hotel’s operating philosophy regarding the conservation and promotion of Agrinio’s cultural heritage was recognized.

The Marpessa is not only a valued historic property renovated with great respect to its historical characteristics, but also a hotel with a team driven by great pride and joy to create wonderful memories for its guests,” said Barbara Avdis, Managing Director of Yades Greek Historic Hotels and Chairman of the Historic Hotels of Europe.

“We wish to take our guests on an inspiring journey to introduce them to the culture, the history and the magnificent natural beauty of the surroundings through the various activities that take place here,” said Marianna Zoidi Pistiola, owner of Marpessa Smart Luxury Hotel.
