Probable Candidates for Tsipras' New Greek Cabinet Positions

Greek Cabinet PositionsNow that the Independent Greeks (ANEL) leader Panos Kammenos announced that he agreed to form a coalition government with SYRIZA, the names of candidates for various ministries of the new government have started circulating in the Press.
So far, SYRIZA had secured 149 seats in the Greek Parliament. Leader Alexis Tsipras was two short to form government. Now with the 13 seats the coalition with ANEL will provide, he has 162 MPs.
The election winner will soon appoint the new ministers and the new cabinet will be appointed and sworn in Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning at the latest.
According to a newsit.gr report citing anonymous SYRIZA sources, economist Yiannis Dragasakis will be the general coordinator on economic issues and chief negotiator with the troika.
Giorgos Stathakis is primed for the ministry of development, while Yiannis Varoufakis is candidate for finance minister. The names of Euclides Tsakalotos and Gavriil Sakellaridis are also on the table for the finance ministry.
The ministry of defense will be given to Panos Kammenos himself as he allegedly asked for the particular ministry in his negotiation with Tsipras.
The name of Zoe Konstantopoulou is on the table for the justice department, but analysts say that a certain person with more experience, in the prison system in particular, is also likely.
Nadia Valavani or Nikos Kotzias are the two candidates for the ministry of foreign affairs. For the education ministry the names of Konstantinos Tsoukalas, Theano Fotia and Tasos Kourakis are on the table.
The health ministry most likely goes to Panagiotis Kouroumplis and the ministry of the interior to Kostas Poulakis.
The citizen protection and public order ministry is the other ministry Kammenos allegedly asked from Tsipras. If it is not given to an ANEL MP, Yiannis Panoussis and Dimitris Tsoukalas are the likely candidates.
The ministry of labor will be granted to Alexis Mitropoulos, Dimitris Stratoulis, or Savvas Robolis
Allegedly, the new government will establish a secretariat for immigration issues led by Anastasia Christodoulopoulou.
