Greek FinMin to Visit Britain, France, Italy

varoufakis-giannis-660_3Greek Finance Minister, Yanis Varoufakis, will travel to London on Monday, February 2, for talks with his British counterpart George Osborne. The meeting will focus on the start of a close cooperation between the two countries on issues of mutual, European interest. He will also meet with officials from the City of London.
Mr. Varoufakis will meet in Paris with his French counterpart Michel Sapin and the Economy Minister Emmanuel Macron, with the latter officially declaring that a renegotiation of the Greek debt, demanded by the Greek government, was legitimate.
The Greek finance minister will travel to Rome on Tuesday, February 3, to meet with his Italian counterpart Pier Carlo Padoan, to exchange views over the macro-economic course of the Eurozone.
Meanwhile, Angel Gurria, secretary-general of the OECD, has accepted an invitation from Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and will visit Athens on February 11 to discuss “with the economic team the government’s proposals over radical reforms, to offer his good services on the issue and to express his experience of maximum public debt renegotiation practices as Finance minister of Mexico.”
